Guide Book Are you interested in learning more about the Old Testament? If so, why not join us at Holy Trinity Church, every other Tuesday at either 11:00 or 20:00 beginning on the 1st of June 2010. Do you ever feel that you need to know more about how to read the Old Testament? Perhaps you’ve never really taken time to read it, or you’ve tried but found it hard going. (A member of our congregation recently told to me that she had read it and didn’t like the God she had read about.) Or maybe you feel you do have a working knowledge, but would like some new perspectives. Whatever your current level of knowledge and understanding, you will be welcome to join us in our new Bible study course. |

The second of our Advent House Group sessions was again attended by 8 students, all keen to continue with the innovative thoughts discussed the previous week. I couldn't believe how poor my knowledge of the Gospels actually is, and thirstily absorbed as much information as I could. |

The Advent House Group was almost cancelled this year, but with some last-minute offers to lead the group we decided on Sunday to go ahead anyway, even without much advanced publicity. A small gathering of eight of us made it to Gillian’s house on Monday night for the first in this series, following the theories of Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan regarding the nature of the Christmas stories in the Gospels.

The Mothers' Union (MU) is a Christian organisation with more than 3.6
million members worldwide. The backbone of the MU is its worldwide
network of volunteers. Whatever their individual backgrounds, members
are related by a commitment to marriage and family. They give their
time to generously help others, whether by running local projects,
supporting international campaigns, or fundraising.
The Holy Trinity branch is run by Marion Fry, the branch leader. We meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 2:30pm in the Church Hall.
