Ride on with majesty not of this world.

Read more...Throughout the weeks of Lent, we have been travelling together with joint reflections upon our lives as disciples of Jesus. This may have taken the form of giving something up or taking something on. It may have been through attending one of our Lent courses or events or doing some spiritual reading. Whatever you have been doing by way of preparation throughout Lent, I pray that you have been, by the grace of God, brought closer to Christ; receiving the gifts of his divinity, and experiencing the vulnerability of his humanity.

Father Scott
Recently on the 1st November 09 we celebrated the solemnity of All Saints' Day. From it's beginning the Church has recognised those witnesses to the faith whose lives and examples have inspired others to holiness. We could say that the Saints were people who dared to live the Christian life, and continue to be an inspiration to all who have set out to follow Christ.

Time For Recreation
At this time of the year, many of us have been or are on our annual holidays. Whatever way we may choose to spend our holidays doing; whether lying on a beach or trekking up a mountain, it is a time for recreation and recuperation. And this is so important in our 24/7 culture today, when life can get so frenetic. We need time to take “time” seriously. In the book of Genesis in the Bible, we can read the story of God's creation. God looks upon the things he has created and sees that they are good and that includes us.

Prayers
Fr. Scott has decided, with the backing of the PCC, that as from Monday 13th July, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, morning prayers will be said in Holy Trinity Church at 8:30am.  As Fridays will be his “day of rest”, the leading of prayers on that day will be shared  among the Lay Readers and other members of the congregation. The ringing  of our church bells will alert those passing that  prayers are being said for our parish, town and country.  The short service will be open to all; but if you are unable to attend in person, you can at least be assured that you are being prayed for.
